Every block starts the same way: students arrive not knowing the room, faculty re-teach the same basics, and preparation varies student to student. Rotation Ready is a standardized pre-rotation layer - a 39-minute physician-authored orientation students complete before day one, with the completion and confidence data flowing back to you. It supplements your teaching; it does not replace it.
How it works
1. License the program
Start with a founding pilot (free). A department license is $3,500 a year for up to 75 learners - founding programs lock $2,500 for year one. An institution license is $5,000 a year: unlimited learners at one school, plus your branding on the course and a welcome video from your own faculty. Multiple campuses or sites are quoted individually. Custom modules - site-specific content produced in the course's house style - are $1,500 each (up to five minutes, two revision rounds) at any paid tier.
2. Send students one link
It goes in your rotation welcome email. Students identify themselves by email - no accounts, no passwords, no LMS work on your side.
3. Receive the orientation record
Completion, quiz results, and pre/post confidence for the cohort, visible in your dashboard and exportable as CSV.

The founding pilot, concretely
We are onboarding a small founding cohort of departments and interest groups. A pilot runs for one rotating cohort and includes everything above: full student access, onboarding, the dashboard, and a post-pilot outcomes summary. It is free. In exchange we ask for honest structured feedback, a short testimonial if the course earns one, and permission to use de-identified engagement data. Your responsibilities: send the link and tell us where we are wrong.
- Timeline: live for your students within a week of saying yes - there is nothing to install.
- After the pilot: continue on a department license, or walk away with your outcomes summary. No obligation either way.
- Student data:students enter their own email; we hold completion, quiz, and survey data only - no PHI, ever. Your program receives its own students' records, and our privacy policy and terms are public. For your privacy or vendor review, our institutional data sheet covers collection, retention, deletion, and subprocessors on one page.
Who wrote it
Rotation Ready was created and narrated by Patrick Nailer, MD, a practicing cardiac anesthesiologist, and built around the questions students repeatedly ask before and during their anesthesia rotations. Every module is clinically reviewed and updated annually. It is orientation, not clinical training: no drug doses, no procedural instruction, and every module tells students to follow your policies and your supervising clinicians.
