Anesthesia Rotation Ready (“we”) provides a short pre-rotation orientation course for medical students. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why, who sees it, and how to have it removed. It applies to anesthesiarotationready.com and getrotationready.com.
What we collect
- Your email address, which you enter before taking a knowledge check. It is the only identifier we use - there are no learner accounts and no passwords.
- Your name, only if you choose to enter it when you finish the course, so it can be printed on your certificate. It is optional.
- Knowledge-check answers and scores, per module.
- Module and course completions, with the date and a certificate code.
- Pre- and post-course survey responses, including your self-rated confidence and any free-text comments you write.
- Counts of lecture views, recorded per module without any identifier attached.
- Anything you send us through the contact form: your name, email, organization, and message.
What we do not collect
We do not collect protected health information, patient data, clinical records, government identifiers, payment card details, or your institution’s credentials. We do not ask for or store a password. We do not use advertising trackers, third-party analytics, or cross-site tracking cookies. The only cookie we set is a session cookie for administrator sign-in, which is never set for learners.
Why we collect it
To show you your quiz results, to record your progress, to issue your completion certificate, and to give the program that assigned the course a record of who completed it. Survey responses are used to measure whether the course improved learner confidence.
Who it is shared with
Read this section carefully if your school or department assigned this course. Where a program sponsors the course for its learners, that program can see and export per-learner completion records, quiz scores, and survey responses for its cohort, including the email address you entered. This is the point of the course for them - it is how they confirm you completed it.
Beyond that, we share data only with the service providers that operate the product on our behalf: our database host, our web host, and our email provider. They process the data only to provide those services. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
How long we keep it
Completion and certificate records are retained so certificates remain verifiable. Quiz attempts and survey responses are retained while they remain useful to the sponsoring program. You can ask us to delete your records at any time using the contact details below, and we will do so unless we are required to keep them.
Your choices
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for a correction, or ask us to delete it. Write to the address below and identify the email you used. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act or the General Data Protection Regulation; we will honor those requests on the same basis.
The knowledge checks and surveys are optional. You can watch every lecture and read every handout without entering an email address at all - you simply will not have a completion record or a certificate.
Who this is for
This course is intended for medical students and other adult health-professions learners. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Security
Data is stored in a managed database with encrypted connections, and administrative access is password-protected. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. Material changes affecting how learner data is shared will be described here rather than made silently.
